#TrendyTuesdays: Parliament caught in cheating scandal
JOBURG – Parody video puts a parliamentary spin to Isley Brothers’ classic song.
For the past week, South Africa’s Parliament has been embroiled in a fictional high-profile cheating scandal featuring former president Jacob Zuma, national speaker Baleka Mbete and Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema.
The controversy was brought into the public eye through a hilarious parody video titled Busted Parliament Version. The video was edited by a Twitter user known as Player1505 and sees the ‘honourable members’ sing along to the classic Isley Brothers song Busted.
In the video, Zuma and Mbete take up the lead vocalist roles, as Zuma accuses Mbete of cheating and questions her all while Malema takes the backup role and repeats R-Kelly’s infectious ‘busted’ ad-lib in the song.
