Jozi to host SABF that will honour the late South African literary icon, Professor Keorapetste Kgositsile

JOBURG – The late South African literary icon Professor Keorapetste Kgositsile will be honoured at this year's South African Book Fair in Newtown.

 

This year’s edition of the South African Book Fair (SABF) will feature a tribute to the late South African literary icon, Professor Keorapetste Kgositsile.

The book fair will be held from 7 to 9 September in Newtown and will round off its activities with a South African Book Development Council’s national programme, National Book Week, with a star-studded showcase of 120 authors in Jozi.

This year’s programme will feature a tribute to the late Professor Keorapetste Kgositsile at the Poetry Café with renowned poets and a theatre production at the National Book Magic tent for youngsters, teachers, librarians and parents. There will also be a ‘philosophy café’ that will tackle the most pressing issues facing the country today.

Various experts and facilitators will touch on key topical discussions during the three days. The programme will be filled with vast and exciting topics, in particular, Step into my womanhood – a global conversation where diverse female authors will discuss their expressions of womanhood and, especially with Women’s Month in mind, these women deserve to be celebrated for the notable gains they have achieved.
