Police spokesperson, Captain Kay Makhubela, has confirmed that a case of attempted murder has been opened after man shot seven homeless people in Doornfontein, Johannesburg CBD.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, said they found a woman and six men lying outside the block of flats in Goud Street.
Two were in a critical condition while the five others sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious.
Makhubela explained that the man first requested that the homeless group move their belongings outside a residential apartment, and when they refused he left and came back in a white taxi.
” A man inside the taxi fired shots at the homeless group, and the taxi fled the scene,” said Makhubela.
The injured were transported to various provincial hospitals.
