Anatii joins Totalsports for Women’s Race to spread breast cancer awareness

NEWTOWN – The Totalsports Women's Race, in support of PinkDrive, is committed to improving breast cancer awareness, education, and providing and offering free services to the medically uninsured across South Africa.

Totalsports has confirmed that for this year’s much anticipated Totalsports Women’s Race, they have secured South African hip-hop record producer and acclaimed musician, Anatii to be the guest performer on the day.

The race is due to take place on 9 August on National Women’s Day at the Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown.

“I love waking up every day being able to do something I’m passionate about,” says Anatii.

“I am super excited to be performing at the Totalsports Women’s Race as a lot of my music is geared towards the ladies.”

The Totalsports Women’s Race supports PinkDrive, a non-profit company that is committed to improving breast cancer awareness, education, and providing and offering free services to the medically uninsured across South Africa.

Entrants are invited to ‘Run For Life’ at this year’s event.

“The Totalsports Women’s Race is one of South Africa’s largest Women’s Day celebrations,” says Michael Meyer, managing director of Stillwater Sports.

“The events will see Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town runners and walkers of all ages and walks of life join forces to ‘run for life’ in support of PinkDrive. We are proud to be able to increase the prize purse for 2017 to a combined total of R123 600, with each event being allocated a total of R41 200. This was made possible due to the valued and ongoing support of our sponsors.”

“Enjoy a day out with like-minded individuals, support SA’s elite runners as they battle it out en route and help us spread PinkDrive’s message that ‘early detection saves lives’,” added Meyer.

Durban runners have already participated, while Johannesburg and Cape Town runners will be seen in action on Women’s Day.

“Hosting an event in honour of women is a great initiative. Cancer has impacted my life on a personal basis and this gives me the opportunity to aid in the battle. The runners (and walkers) can expect positive vibes. Hits to look forward to on the day will include: Hours, 10 Fingers, Don’t Forget to Pray and more,” concluded Anatii.
