The managing director of Metrobus, Sabata Makoele, has been suspended with immediate effect by the company’s board of directors following allegations of financial misconduct.
Chairperson of the board Yolisa Kani said, “The board held its meeting, deliberated on this matter and resolved to suspend the acting managing director to allow a full investigation into these allegations.
“The board is acting in the best interest of the company to ensure minimal disruptions to business operations and to protect its long-term sustainability.”
While the investigation is being conducted, Metrobus said it was unable to comment further pending the finalisation of the process.
