Basa searches for organisations to take part in their workshops

JOBURG – Just a few days left to submit your entry to be part of Basa's Established Education Programme.

After the success of their first cycle of workshops this year, Business and Arts South Africa (Basa) opened the final call for this year to recruit 30 organisations for the Basa Established Programme, proudly supported by Rand Merchant Bank.

The second and final cycle of workshops will begin in June and applications close on 26 May.

The Basa Established Programme is an intensive, transformative learning programme comprising of several different workshops. Some of the workshops are about asset-based community development which talks about creative and organisational community development, others such as creative market growth offer action plans and strategies to structure your creative organisation financially and operationally for sustainable outputs.

The workshops are facilitated by specialist business professionals in the field being explored.

The strength of the workshops lies in the inclusion of arts, culture and creative facilitators drawn from South Africa’s extensive arts and creative sectors. These facilitators will offer their invaluable insights and expertise to workshop participants.

“Our Basa Established Education programme aims to help elevate practising arts, culture and creative organisations with renewed vision and strategic business thinking,” explained Kim Sanssoucie, programme manager for Basa’s creative management.

“The programme is based on the model of asset-based organisational thinking and practical insights from arts and creative leaders.”

The programme is part of a broader Basa education initiative which aims to address the strategic thrust of development and support of the arts, culture and creative sectors by driving connectivity and sustainability through research as well as skills transfer.
