Four suspects nabbed for break-in and theft in Johannesburg CBD

JOBURG – Suspects arrested by Joburg Central Cluster Police while conducting routine crime prevention rounds in Joburg CBD on 10 May.

 

Four suspects, aged between 27 and 36, were arrested for an alleged business break-in and theft by the Joburg Central Cluster Police in the Joburg CBD on 10 May.

According to the spokesperson for Joburg Central Cluster Police, Captain Xoli Mbele, police were actively conducting a routine crime prevention operation in the inner city when they noticed two suspicious-looking Hyundai and Hino trucks lingering on the corner of Fox and End streets at about 2am.

“The suspects tried to run away but were cornered by police,” Mbele told the publication.

“Both trucks were full of boxes containing hair pieces. Preliminary investigations revealed that there was a break-in [in] one of the storerooms at the Greatness Building situated on the corner of Commissioner and End streets.

“CCTV footage was [allegedly] damaged and computers were taken. Further police investigations are underway and suspects will appear soon in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court.”
