Joburg-based Blazey Fresh has released a new single, Dlala describing it as ‘scrapyard’.

JOBURG – This raw and fresh musician is looking to conquer South African audiences.

Blazey Fresh has released a new single, Dlala – and he is not about to play around.

The South African musician, who was born Sello Moloto in Limpopo, has been working on building his musical repertoire since 2009 and has dropped a new track for his fans to enjoy.

In 2009, Blazey Fresh got his start when prominent South African DJ, Speedy, encouraged him to move to Johannesburg.

The move catapulted him on a journey that allowed him to acquire some experience and exposure during the long and labouring years. Since then, Blazey Fresh has shared the stage with music legends such as Big Nuz, BET award-winning artist Black Coffee, Mafikizolo and Khuli Chana to name a few.

His music has been described as hip-hop with a modern and edgy street kick.

In August last year, he released the single Beast, and his music is now played widely on South African dancefloors.

His previous releases under Kwathole productions, Moshito and All Day, were smash hits as the music videos received more than 127 000 impressions on Facebook in less than a week.

His latest offering, Dlala, a Zulu word meaning ‘play’, was released early in January to the delight of locals.

The single comes to radio stations with a new sound, which he describes as ‘scrapyard’ – re-engineered for both local and international hearing, appeal and entertainment.

His early infant footsteps were expressly influenced by his late father and thus the new single depicts Blazey Fresh’s past and present life experiences.

In addition, the young man is not only a music whizz but an inspiration too. He is the co-founder and brand ambassador of 2ALK, a non-profit organisation aiding in combating socio-economic issues faced daily, through art and literacy.

Out of the scrapyard and into the light, Blazey Fresh has released the Beast.
