Mothibe ready to serve Ward 118 CCPF

BRONKHORSTSPRUIT – Mothibe to serve as a chairperson of the CCPF

Cleveland Community Policing forum (CCPF) has elected unopposed Godfrey Isaac Mothibe as a new chairperson.

Mothibe was born in 1953 to parents Maria and Hosia Mothibe at Bronkhorstspruit. He joined the CCPF in 2009 as an ordinary member. “I then became a secretary and served under two chairmen before I was elected to the position of chairman,” he said.

The married father of four has experience in administration and education. He said that working with people is what he enjoys most. “I was working as an education specialist in Gauteng since 1994 until I retired in 2007. I also lectured at the Wits School of Education.”

He called on residents to join the CCPF with an aim to serve the community and to fight crime. The role and responsibility of the forum are to establish and ensure cooperation between the community (represented by the CPF) and the police, be it at the station, cluster or provincial level.

“The CPF provides a forum for the community to discuss policing matters with the police management… and to participate by raising concerns on policing matters and to make suggestions to improve policing. The role of the CPF is to act as a liaison between the police and the community to fulfil the needs of the community regarding policing,” he explained.
