Voice of Joburg: Lwando Jijana

JOBURG - City Buzz gets the lowdown on a young financial adviser and his love for numbers and the city.

City Buzz found another interesting person to speak to in the city and here’s what he had to say …

Walking past Double Shot café, we found a very cool looking young man and we were sure that he’d have a good story for us.

After a little hesitation, City Buzz coaxed the gentleman into speaking to us about his life and experiences in our City of Gold.

Lwando Jijana was born in Durban and moved to Johannesburg in 2010 and is currently living in the student village of Auckland Park.

No longer a student, Jijana is making his financial mind work for him. “I did a BCom Accounting at the University of Johannesburg, but I’m done with that now. I’m working at JDG Group, a financial service provider,” said Jijana.

The stylish Joburg resident may be a lover of numbers, but he is also a lover of the city and all that takes place in it.

When asked what has been his most interesting experience in the city, Jijana replied, “In Joburg, there’s been too many things to name. It’s been okay. Lots of parties and lots of people to meet in the city.

“It’s a great place. There’s lots of things to do and there’s a lot of opportunity here – much better than where I’m from.”

The Joburg lover is most intrigued by the social aspect of the city and its nightlife. He also mentioned that he likes the fact that people in the city are very friendly and you can almost always strike up a conversation with a stranger.

Just like any other young city dweller, Jijana likes to visit Braamfontein for good times and good food.

Maybe you could bump into financial expert, Jijana, the next time you’re in the city and ask for some financial advice.
