@Jozicares – Telling the stories of the homeless in Joburg

JOBURG - A group of Joburg's twenty-something's have banded together to show they care and make Jozi care.

Kate Argo, Jenna Braham and Genevieve Beyleveld are the compassionate young women who have started the social media initiative called Jozicares in Instagram.

“Jozicares will be explaining the background of homeless people and specifying what their needs are and why they are on the streets. This will create great awareness and get people involved in the initiative,” Argo explained.

She also said that the group recognised a number of issues facing Joburg’s most vulnerable; the homeless, and this is how the idea of the Instagram account was formed.

“The account aims to raise awareness to the plight of those living on our streets. Jozicares is the bridge that connects the disadvantaged with someone who can help them with something that they actually need.”

“We urge the Joburg community to get involved and help who they can, where they can.”

In creating the account, the young ladies hope to ease the plight of fellow South Africans, one good deed at a time.

“Through our account we hope to create a permanent awareness to open our hearts daily to those around us, to help get some of the homeless off the street and to truly make a difference and impact their lives forever,” Argo concluded.

This goes to show that anyone can make a difference to the lives of others, so visit @Jozicares on Instagram to do your part in improving the lives of others.
