In need of sponsors to follow her dreams
JOBURG - Could a life-long dream of a 17-year-old pupil be realised with the help of a generous donation?
Delight Moyo, who lives in Sydenham and is yet to matriculate from Waverley Girls’ High School, has been given the opportunity to live out her dream after she was scouted by Kim Myers, the executive director for the ARTS (Applause Rising Talent Showcase) International Showcase.
The young model was signed to Just You Model and Artist Management, a South African talent agency, in October last year and has been actively pursuing her career in entertainment since then, but her dream to become a famous model began long before that.
“Ever since I was very young I wanted to be a model, so last year I decided to take the opportunity and I signed with Just You Model and Artist Management,” said Moyo.
The ARTS International Showcase runs from 23 July to 2 August and it begins with a workshop that takes place during the first week of the trip, which is then followed by the talent show in Orlando, Florida, that allows the aspiring performers to be scouted by a number of talent managers, agents and casting managers.
Moyo is looking for sponsorship so she can pursue her career in entertainment on an international platform. “I have really tried everything and I’ve contacted so many companies to help me. I’ve even e-mailed the Department of Arts and Culture and they haven’t responded,” she added.
“I really want to do this so that I can go after all the opportunities that I will get.”
The young starlet does not want her dreams to go unnoticed and appeals to anybody who can help her on her quest. “Unfortunately, I do not have funds to prepare and go next year to attend ARTS,” she said.
“My success depends on your involvement as this is a dream come true for any individual in my position. Many dreams go unrealised in South Africa because of lack of funding. I hope my dreams will be realised with your help.”
