Man dies at rapper Reason’s birthday bash
JOBURG - A man died after he took a serious fall at the birthday bash of well-known South African rapper, Reason.
Lawrence Ledimo was the 27-year-old victim of an unfortunate accident at the Koolin’ in the City event which was held to celebrate the rapper’s birthday on 28 June.
A representative of Kool Out, Banesa Tseki explained the series of events that led to the death of Ledimo.
“He was coming from the bathroom on the seventh floor and decided to slide down the rail,” she explained.
“At the corner [of the railing] he must have lost control and fell from the seventh floor to the bottom of the staircase. Forensics were called and they took his body to be investigated, but we don’t know yet if he was drinking. It was a party and there was alcohol, but we don’t know yet.”
Reason has since reached out to the family of the deceased on Twitter.
The rapper tweeted, “Its hard to celebrate life when another has been lost. My heartfelt condolences to the family and friends. #RIP”
