Frustration over FNB website downtime
JOBURG – Fin24 has reported that the official website for First National Bank (FNB) has been down since about 8am this morning (18 May), much to the frustration of shoppers everywhere.
Those trying to use the site have been presented with a ‘Connection timed out’ error. Another addition to the frustration is the fact that the mobile banking app was also unavailable, but the bank’s ATMs seem to be working normally.
Twitter users were quick to show their agitation regarding the inconveniently timed downtime.

FNB released a statement regarding the issue.
“FNB is aware of intermittent connectivity on its network. Our teams are working hard to rectify this,” said Mo Hassem, FNB’s chief information officer, in an emailed statement to Fin24.
“We advise clients to make use of FNB’s branch and ATM channels to conduct banking. FNB apologises for any inconvenience,” added Hassem.
