It was a family affair

NEW CENTRE – Kim Den Hond, owner of a decor and furnishing company and veteran in the furniture industry, has had much success to celebrate recently with the opening of her showroom for her online company, as well as initiating the sister company which specialises in corporate furniture rental.

Lee De Hond refurnishes and refurbishes a somewhat unlikely town with her new showroom, Furnish Me New.

Long time friend of Den Hond’s, Monique Verduyn, explains that the opening of the showroom is the culmination of years of hard work.

“As long as I’ve known her, she’s been in interior design. Then she launched her business a few years ago. We watched her get her website up and running and bring some interesting pieces into the country. Now she’s got this great space in Selby.”

The passion behind her success may have stemmed from her mother, Rene Suble, who has more than 33 years of experience in the furniture business, but Kim is definitely making a name on her own – delivering pieces to the South African coast, Paris, Germany and London.

“I’ve been in manufacturing and wholesale and wanted to go online,” says Kim.

The Furnish Me New showroom was opened in October as a project that aimed to make online products more tangible for customers.

Furnish Me Now allows corporates to rent pieces for events.

Friends and family wish Kim all the best of luck and toasted to the opening of her already-successful business.
