Ray Phiri lights up the stage

The legendary South African musician performed his hits alongside his music band in an intimate setting at Kramerville, courtesy of whisky brand Glenlivet, Kaya FM and Mzansi Magic. Guests were treated to some fine whisky and food while they enjoyed the smooth sounds of Phiri’s music.

DJ Yonoss kicked off the night with his set, then programme director Pepsi Pokane took over to introduce Phiri.

The event was Glenlivet’s way of honouring Phiri and his 47-year-long music career. He has been instrumental in encouraging the international appreciation of world music, supporting the anti-apartheid movement and developing the arts in Africa.
