Coca Cola closes sidewalks in Braam

BRAAMFONTEIN – Coca Cola will be causing traffic for drivers and photo opportunities for all those hoping for their 15 minutes of fame in Braamfontein.

Braamfontein will be a nightmare for some and a dream come true for others on 26 November. Coca Cola will be shooting an ad on the busy streets of Joburg tomorrow and will be barricading certain areas for it.

De Beer Street and Juta Street, the social hubs of Joburg, will be experiencing a day that will be much busier than the usual. Coca Cola has sent out a letter to inform tenants of the roads that they will be closing the side walks for the ad – and this will no doubt cause some havoc during the day.

The closing of the sidewalks means that people may not be able to access their favourite stores for the day, which would imply that the streets would be emptier than usual. However, the area may experience an increase in visitors due to all the onlookers. Not to mention that the corner of De Beer Street and Juta Street is one of the busiest corners in Braamfontein due to its street culture and social nature. This could also bring an increase in the number of cars going through the area.

Perhaps 26 November would be a day to avoid Braamfontein.
