Michael Bublé coming to Joburg

JOBURG - Michael Bublé will perform in Joburg next year.

Big Concerts announced the multi Grammy Award-winning Canadian crooner’s four-date tour in March will also include performances in Durban and Cape Town.

Bublé achieved global sales of 45 million albums in his decade-long career.

“His previous Crazy Love tour sold out in 80 US cities, and was seen by over two million fans worldwide, including five sold-out dates in Cape Town and Joburg,” said spokesperson Dionne Domyan-Mudie.

“Bublé’s last CD, the multi-platinum Christmas, was the second biggest selling album of 2011 following Adele, and has spent almost two-and-a-half years on the album chart.”

His latest release, To Be Loved, debuted at number one on the Billboard Magazine Top 200 pop charts.

This album, produced by Bob Rock, was recorded in Vancouver and Los Angeles, and includes a mix of standards as well as four original songs all co-written by Bublé.

One of these songs, After All, was co-written and performed by fellow Canadian, Bryan Adams. The new album also includes hits previously recorded by some of Bublé’s musical heroes.

Among these are the Bee Gees’ hit, To Love Somebody; Frank Sinatra’s You Make Me Feel So Young; the Jackson 5s early ’70s smash hit, Who’s Loving You; Jackie Wilson’s To Be Loved; and the Elvis Presley classic, Have I Told You Lately.

Bublé was joined by actress Reese Witherspoon on the classic Frank and Nancy Sinatra duet, Something Stupid.

“I’m very excited to get back on the road and perform for my fans,” the singer said.

“It has been a while, but we’re rested up and ready to have a big party on stage every night.”

His stage show will be propelled by a string of hits including Home, Everything, Haven’t Met You Yet, Hollywood, and It’s a Beautiful Day.

“After record sales from his previous South African tour, fans are encouraged to book their tickets as early as possible to avoid disappointment,” said Domyan-Mudie.

Bublé will perform on 21 and 22 March, 2015 at the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg.

He will also perform on 17 March at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium, and on 19 March at the Cape Town Stadium.

Tickets go on sale on 10 October from 9am.
