Viva gym still open but group classes cancelled

ROSEBANK – The gym remains open but is exercising a number of precautions to protect staff and members.

Viva Gym SA has released a statement concerning COVID-19.

The gym group said that while it remains open for now, the number of members accessing the club will remain restricted to 100 or less. Members will be allowed to freeze their membership for 30 days if they wish. All group exercise classes have been cancelled and only individual training is allowed.

“We have met with our cleaning staff and instructed them to maintain an extra high level of care and cleanliness on the equipment and all surfaces. Our staff will also assist at this stage,” the statement said.

The chemicals supplied in spray bottles at the gym are designed to help combat viruses and bacteria. Members are also able to use this spray on their hands if need be. All personal trainers and staff have been instructed to stay at least one metre from any member.

“No person who is displaying any signs of illness will be given access to Viva Gym.”

Sanitiser will be provided to members as they make use of the fingerprint access on arrival. Even more stringent sanitising measures have been put in place in the showers and change rooms.
