Man crashes into swimming pool in Westcliff after vehicle collision

WESTCLIFF – The fatal crash occurred after a man driving a bakkie collided with another vehicle.


A man believed to be in his 30s was killed early this morning, 27 September, when his bakkie collided with another vehicle, crashed through a fence and came to rest in a swimming pool off Westcliff Drive in Westcliff, Johannesburg.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said their paramedics along with  City of Johannesburg Emergency Management Service (EMS), local police, search and rescue arrived on the scene at 6.25am to find a bakkie in a swimming pool in a residence. “The body of a man was found lying inside the vehicle.

“SAPS Search and Rescue personnel extricated the man from the vehicle and was thereafter assessed by paramedics, who found that he had sustained a serious head injury and showed no signs of life.”

The man was declared dead on the scene, details surrounding the incident is not known, local authorities were on the scene to conduct further investigations.
