Rotisserie to rave about

JOBURG – If you’re looking for a place to relax and unwind then head on over to the Botanist.

You’ll stumble across it in the heart of 4th Avenue, Parkhurst and you’ll find they offer cosy dining and some seriously good food – think rotisserie chicken, lamb and pork with homemade extras whipped up by a team of passionate chefs.

This zero food-waste resto will have you going ‘mmm’ after every bite – trust us, everything is made from scratch and marinated to perfection.

The triple-cooked potatoes drenched in drippings is at the tip-top of our list (so delicious) and the Korean barbeque rotisserie chicken also made it onto our list of faves – the flavour’s simply to die for. Pair it with the Asian slaw (a mixture of cabbage, cucumber, carrots, edamame beans all tossed in a lime and chilli vinaigrette), and you have a winner. The menu’s diverse, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

You’ll really want to head over on a Thursday night to enjoy cool beats by local DJs and take advantage of cocktail hour from 5pm to 7pm. With spring just around the corner, you can relax outside and enjoy al-fresco dining at its best.

Speaking of cocktails, we absolutely loved their refreshing peach and sage mule – one is simply not enough, so hello happy hour. Go on, give this new restaurant a try. Details: www.botanist.co.za
