IEC presiding officer at Craighall Primary elections station says all is running smoothly

CRAIGHALL PARK – According to the presiding officer all has gone smoothly this morning.

As with every election, fear and rumours spread like wildfire. A post on a community group in Craighall Park suggested that just one hour into voting, the election station had run out of ballot papers on 8 May.

Rosebank Killarney Gazette journalist Laura Pisanello visited the Craighall Primary School IEC election station. She spoke to the IEC presiding officer who said that apparently that there was no lack of ballot papers, everything has been running smoothly this morning but it’s been a bit quiet.

The queue was gradually building at around 9.20am this morning.

As an update, it seems that it was at the Craighall Bowls Club where ballot papers allegedly ran out. The Rosebank Killarney Gazette is in the process of verifying these claims.
