Residents advised to take note of these traffic disruptions for the DareDevil Run on 15 March

PARKVIEW – The event will affect traffic in the Parkview, Saxonwold, Rosebank and Forest Town areas on 15 March.

 


Residents and commuters in the Saxonwold, Parkview, Rosebank and Forest Town areas are advised to be aware of some traffic disruptions on 15 March as men dart across the streets in speedos for the annual Hollard DareDevil Run.

The 5km run aims to raise awareness about cancers affecting men. All funds raised from the event will go towards testicular cancer screening and awareness programmes in disadvantaged communities through Cansa.

The 5km run begins at 3pm and runners will be off the road by 4.30pm. The event starts and finishes at Zoo Lake.

Metro police with the assistance of marshals will help manage traffic at the various intersections en route.

Runners will begin at Zoo Lake, cross Jan Smuts Avenue into Erswold Way, turn right into Beechwold Road, turn left into Ettick Road, turn right onto Oxford Road, turn left into Federation Road and into Hollard campus, exit Hollard campus and turn right into Oxford Road, turn left into Sherwood Road, turn right into Rannoch Road, turn right into Jan Smuts Avenue and left into Princess of Wales Terrace and end the race at the Zoo Lake Sports Club.
