St John’s sevens win Saheti Sevens tournament #SchoolSport

HOUGHTON – St John's sevens thoroughly enjoyed the tournament where they beat Dainfern College in the final.


St John’s College U18 invitational team emerged victorious at the season-opening Saheti Rugby Sevens festival on 2 March.

Having not featured at the tournament for a number of years, the college was delighted to take part and the boys thoroughly enjoyed the day.

The tournament began with a round-robin group format where St John’s emerged top of Group A, achieving two wins from two.

For a number of boys, this was their first experience of a competitive sevens tournament. All boys still involved in summer sports were unavailable with those involved showing wonderful spirit and enthusiasm for the game.

St John’s beat Mondeor High in the semi-final and Dainfern College in the final showdown, outscoring their opponents by eight tries to one in the final.
