Dagga found in Rose Park

ROSEBANK – Residents and business owners in Rosebank would be glad to know that efforts are being made to deal with substance abuse issues in the precinct.

 


The issue of substance abuse occurring in parks in the Rosebank precinct has been a cause for concern for most residents. However, members of CAP’s (CommunityActive Protection) special intervention and K9 units joined forces with Rosebank Police Station members as well as other security service providers in an operation in Rosebank.

According to a statement by CAP, the operation was implemented as part of a plan to address the ongoing issue of substance abuse.

“The combined team combed through the area which resulted in the recovery of narcotics. Well done to all involved for making the continued effort to make our suburbs safer,” read the statement.

Rosebank police spokesperson, Sergeant Bongi Mdletshe confirmed that dagga was found in the park. “There is a problem of people who smoke dagga at Rose Park which is outside Rosebank Clinic. They smoke this dagga publicly and this is not allowed.”
