Parktown High School for Girls is proud of Joanna Ciolkosz who won silver medals in the 500m, 200m and 4km races in the Gauteng Schools League canoeing event held at Wemmer Pan on 20 January.
Tinyiko Mahwayi came fifth in the U16 division at the same event.
On 3 February, a 5km race was held at Emmarentia Dam. In the U18 category, Ciolkosz came first, Sherona Gower second and Sara Vanker finished in third place.
The teacher in charge of canoeing at Parktown Girls Allister Metcalfe congratulated the girls on their results.
