Check out these Christmas lights in Craighall Park and post a letter to Santa

CRAIGHALL PARK – View the house lighting up the street in Hamilton Avenue.

Residents of 138 Hamilton Avenue have dressed up their home in Christmas lights and welcome children to post letters to Santa each evening at their Craighall Park home.

Resident Joss Du Trevou explained that he and two other neighbours decided to light up their homes to create a festive atmosphere in the neighbourhood.

The public are invited to drop past Du Trevou’s house between 7pm and 10pm each evening to view the Christmas tree, Santa and his reindeer all lit up at the house.

Children can post letters to Santa and supply their email address. Santa will then respond to them acknowledging receipt of the email.

Du Trevou said that he has committed to give R100 to the Vuleka Schools for each letter sent.

“We have received 30 letters to date and they are still coming in thick and fast,” said Du Trevou.

“For anyone concerned that we are using up electricity, our home has a sophisticated solar system and we are mostly off the Eskom grid, although we do have to conserve the saved battery power.”
