Fun and games and Greenside Primary School

GREENSIDE – Greenside Primary School was packed with both people and activities on their first Spring Carnival Day aimed at fundraising for the school.

It was an eventful day for parents and learners at Greenside Primary School as they participated in the Spring Carnival Day. Various activities including food, PlayStation battles and water dunks were the order of the day in an effort to have fun while raising funds for the school.

The highlight of the day which most of the attendees enjoyed was the Community Active Protection (Cap) demonstration.

The audience watched while Richard Schoeman from Cap illustrated how his dog Dash found items during searches.

“Dash is an explosives protection dog who can find items like guns and illegal substances in the bush or anywhere else using his sense of smell. The dog changes his harnesses depending on the searches he has to conduct,” explained Ricky H from Cap.

Dash indeed did not disappoint as he found hidden items in the correct places during the demonstration. Parents and children spent the rest of the day going around stalls, buying food, toys and refreshing themselves by swimming in plastic pools.
