PARKVIEW – The market will have a variety of food and drinks stalls as well as entertainment for the whole family
The Parkview Christmas Market, which has been running for over 10 years, will return once again to George Hay Park from 24 to 26 November.
Each year the market has aimed to ensure that families enjoy the festive season together in a fun and welcoming environment. Christmas is about spending time with loved ones and Nicarela has made every effort to ensure that every member of the family is catered for.
There will be a world of fun activities to keep the little ones occupied the entire day. Children can look forward to train rides, snow tent, four-man bungee jumping, games and prizes, rocket, sand art, painting and crafts. The Nicarela staff and team of volunteers will be there to facilitate all the fun activities on offer.
“There will be entertainment from the time it opens and then into the evening. Depending on the time there will be kiddies entertainment and young entertainment as it goes into the evening there will be more entertainment for adults and we’ll also have local schools getting involved,” said Bridget von Holdt, who manages the PR for the event.
Adults will be able to enjoy a beverage or two at the Champagne and Oyster Bar or the Gin Bar. There will also be food, treats and delicacies for all tastes and palates.
“Most of the food and drink stalls are run by the Nicarela committee, so besides the cost outlay, 100 per cent of the profits go back to Nicarela.”
With over 90 stalls at this year’s market, satisfaction is guaranteed for everyone. Proceeds from the market go to the Nicarela Charity each year. The charity is a non-governmental organisation which raises funds to support over 30 outreach projects. All the events and the market is organised by a team of volunteers.
