Metro police recover Polo hijacked in Parktown, in Alexandra township

PARKTOWN – Metro Police have shared their success in recovering some vehicles which were hijacked and stolen recently.

The Polo was hijacked in the driveway of a house in Parktown just after 6pm on the same night.

An Audi that was also recovered by Metro Police.

According to Edna Mamonyane, spokesperson for Metro police, it was discovered that three armed suspects were waiting for the owner of the house to arrive home with the Polo. They then pistol-whipped the victim and fled with the car.

“Cars which get hijacked or stolen often get parked in secluded areas in case police follow a tracker signal, as in this situation. The officers followed information from a tracker signal which led them to where the car was located,” explained Mamonyane.
