Several suspects arrested for various crimes

PARKVIEW – No playground for criminals.

Parkview Police Station is determined to put a lid on crime following the arrest of 29 suspects between 19 and 26 September.

Suspects were arrested for crimes ranging from drunk driving, attempted robbery, possession of drugs and assault.

Parkview Police Station’s spokesperson, Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, said police were working hard to ensure the safety of the community by keeping criminals off the street.

Suspects were arrested for the following various crimes:

  • 2 for housebreaking and theft
  • 2 for attempted carjacking
  • 4 for attempted robbery and assault
  • 1 for reckless and negligent driving
  • 1 for common assault
  • 2 for possession of dagga
  • 1 for possession of suspected stolen vehicle
  • 1 for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and malicious damage to property
  • 1 for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
  • 14 for driving under the influence.

All suspects have appeared in the Hillbrow and Johannesburg magistrates’ courts to face their charges.
