Burglars get away with items worth thousands

CRAIGHALL PARK – Laptops worth thousands stolen by thieves.

A recent housebreaking incident on Hamilton Avenue in Craighall Park left a homeowner shaken when unknown suspects gained entry into the home stealing valuable goods.

Parkview police said the victim reported that he went to bed about 10pm having checked that all doors were locked and windows closed. About 2am the alarm went off which prompted him to contact security services.

“The complainant says when he went to check around the house he found his study’s door wide open,” explained Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, Parkview Police Station spokesperson. “Two laptops with a value of R14 000 had been stolen.”

Sibeko confirmed that a case of housebreaking and theft had been opened at the Parkview Police Station and that no suspects had been apprehended. Investigations are underway.
