Coffee masters bring good music to the table

ROSEBANK – Live music sessions for coffee lovers.

Starbucks Coffee in Rosebank is hosting a series of music sessions to showcase South African talent and to give a platform to upcoming artists.

Fareed Mohammed, communications officer of Starbucks, said these sessions are the start of Starbucks’ journey to redefine the meaning of neighbourhoods and how they contribute to the vibrant and dynamic Rosebank district. “We speak about Starbucks being the third place.

“A place that encourages connections, brings the community closer, and allows us to showcase young talent.”

According to Mohammed, the first session took place late in May and featured South African Music Award-winning artist Tressor supported by newcomer Barita. “Since the first Starbucks session, we have had an overwhelming response from our customers as well as from musicians looking for a platform to showcase their talent.

“We have artists booked up until the end of this year and, hopefully, we can run this series well into the next year.”

The next Starbucks session will take place on 28 August from 12pm to 3pm. “Customers can expect to enjoy their favourite Starbucks handcrafted beverage combined with creativity.

“Singer and songwriter, Matthew Mole, will perform tracks off his first EPs as well as music off his new album Run and he will be joined by newcomers, Adelle Nqeto and Moonga K.”
