Fun night in store

PARKHURST – Four of the best entertainers to be on one stage in one night.

On 21 May, the St Paul’s Parkhurst church is bringing the Inferno Opera.

The event will be held at De La Salle Holy Cross College Junior School on the corner of Braemar and 13th streets in Victory Park. Festivities will begin at 7pm where three classically trained professional singers and a pianist will be entertaining the audience.

The performers are Lawrence Joffe, well-known stage, TV and film actor. He is a baritone. His sister, Debbie Joffe will be singing soprano. On tenor will be Adrian Galliard, who is a Parkhurst resident and professional performer in numerous musical theatre productions and corporate and charity events. Neil Bennett, the pianist, is musical director of De La Salle, conductor of the Welsh Male Voice Choir of South Africa and a well-known entertainer.

Linda Gilliard from the church said the performance will include some light classics and pieces from musicals.

She added that the show offers a wide variety of beautiful music, lots of humour and fun, and is interactive in that the audience can join in and sing along, they can request songs and, generally, everyone has a great time in an easy, relaxed atmosphere.

“We would like this to be a real fellowship event, not only for members of our church, but for anyone who enjoys music. Whatever your faith or your beliefs, come and join us and be part of this evening of fun and laughter,” said Gilliard.
