Dazzling De Kock has impressive ODI record

JOBURG - Former King Edward VII High School (KES) old boy Quinton de Kock has an impressive batting record for the Proteas in the limited-overs format of the gam

De Kock’s conversion rate in One Day Internationals (ODI) is outstanding. In the 55 ODIs he has played, De Kock has passed 50 on 15 occasions, and gone on to three figures 10 times, leaving him with a 66.6 percent conversion rate.

In the current series against England, he has already scored more than 250 runs earning him two Man of the Match accolades.

The 23-year-old wicketkeeper learnt his cricket at KES which has produced many South African cricket greats including Graeme Smith and Neil McKenzie. He also played club cricket at Old Eds where he hit 98 runs off 74 balls to help them win the premier league in 2009.

His aggressive, all round play resulted in him being picked as captain for South Africa’s U19 squad. De Kock finished the 2012 ICC U19 Cricket World Cup tournament as the leading run-scorer and was soon called up to the Proteas T20 side the following year.
