Rosebank police enjoy year-end celebration

ROSEBANK - Rosebank police celebrated the year 2015 with key role players recently.

In unity, members of the Rosebank Police Station and role players in the community celebrated their year’s achievements at a party in Sandton.

The officers were treated to dinner and were acknowledged for their hard work and determination throughout the year.

“The year-end was a great success, thank you to everyone who got involved in helping to put everything together. I can say that it was greatly appreciated by all the members at the police station,” said Lieutenant-Colonel Logan Govender, Rosebank Police Station commander.

He added that it was events such as these that brought members together and closer.

Rosebank police spokesperson Sergeant Bongi Mdletshe, said even although the Rosebank police had had their year-end party, they were still operating 24 hours in full swing. “The party was a reflection of the year that has passed in terms of crime,” he said.

“We commend the team for a job well done. We also want to thank all the external parties that have been involved throughout the year in working together with the police, especially the Community Policing Forum for the continued support.”

Also in attendance was Ward 90 councillor, Joy Coplan, who said it was a very special night which she felt very proud to be invited to as she had been working with the Rosebank police for years.

“It was a special night with such camaraderie that moved me,” she said. “What was really special and stood out was the prayers recited by the police who had such gratitude to God for having spared them this year and giving them the strength to do what they do.”
