Goethe on Main

This art gallery forms part of the German Goethe Institut. The institute plays a big role in facilitaing the arts and culture projects of many foreign nationals and loacls, and the gallery displays their work in the heart of the cultural precinct that is Maboneng.

Museum of African Design (MOAD)

Joubert Park

Johannesburg Art Gallery (JAG)

JAG is located in the bustling business district and it is the largest art gallery in Africa. It has displayed more than 9 000 exhibitions, including 17th century Dutch paintings, 18th and 19th century British and European works, as well as 19th-century and contemporary South African art.

ABSA Gallery

The ABSA North Towers in the heart of the CBD boasts an ever-changing collection of art. The major artworks were commissioned while the building was being designed – thus allowing artists and architects to work together.
