Mini hockey flourishes at Old Eds

HOUGHTON - The Old Edwardians mini hockey U5 team has been extremely successful, having won six of their last seven matches, and drawing the other.

In the recent Festival at UJ, Connor Fourie proved to be a star with a future, scoring all 17 goals in their wins over Morningside Country Club.

In midfield, players Blake Mundy, Spencer Gilchrist, Liam Cooper, Fatima Adams and Thea Wong are becoming a well-oiled combination. Along with Joshua Venter in goal, and they have kept five clean sheets in the last seven matches.

The U9 team remain unbeaten so far this season and is starting to really find their rhythm.

The club welcomes new players from the age of five upwards, and should anyone require further information then they can call Daryl Coker. Practise takes place each Saturday on the Old Edwardian sports field from 11am until 1pm.
