Suspect arrested for armed robbery

PARKVIEW - A man was arrested for possession of stolen property on 24 June.

According to spokesperson for Parkview police, Sergeant Lloyd Ramovha, the suspect, who was arrested in Parkview, was immediately linked to a driveway robbery that had just occurred in Melville.

Ramovha said, “Parkview police members were on patrol when they received a call of a suspicious person spotted along the shrubby area of the Parkview Golf Club yard.”

In the suspect’s possession police found an iPad and Samsung smartphone, which was established to belong to a woman who had been robbed at gunpoint while waiting for her driveway roller-door to open at her workplace. The victim was given back her possessions after she positively identified them and the suspect.

The firearm that was allegedly used was not recovered.

The suspect will appear in Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court for armed robbery and possession of stolen property.
