VIDEO: Victim shot in armed robbery

DUNKELD - A woman was shot in the leg during an attempted hijacking on Bompas Avenue at around 10 am on 27 May.

Bramley Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela has confirmed that a case of attempted hijacking and attempted murder has been opened at Bramley Police Station.

Maphakela said the victim was followed by the suspects.

The victim noticed the suspects following her and decided to park off at the driveway of a house at the side of Bompas Avenue.

The suspects then shot at the victim.

Police are still uncertain about where the victim was followed from.

A resident’s Facebook post has warned residents to be on the lookout for a black Audi A5 which was involved in an armed robbery and attempted hijacking on Bompas Road earlier today (27 May).

The victim, who is a woman, is alleged to have been shot in the leg by one of the suspects.
According to Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for Bramley Police, the incident was an attempted hijacking.

According to a reporter at the scene, the victim’s vehicle is a white Range Rover Evoque.

The suspects did not manage to steal the victim’s vehicle but made off with her handbag.

Bompas Road has been closed off.

The victim was a taken to hospital.
