Let’s go to Lego

ROSEBANK- The worlds most renowned Lego art exhibit, The Art of the Brick will be heading to TheZone@Rosebank on 3 April.

Visitors can look forward to 75 original artworks, including Lego artist Nathan Sawaya’s most famous work to date,Yellow, famously featured in a Lady Gaga music video, and other sculptures such as the T-Rex skeleton constructed from about 80 000 Lego bricks and measuring more than 6m in length.

In addition to this, visitors will see some of the world’s most famous artworks recreated using Lego such as Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Van Gogh’s Starry Night and the Venus de Milo.

Sawaya said he was excited to showcase his work for the first time in Gauteng.

“This country is one of the most amazing places I have been to on my travels, and I am thrilled to be coming back and bringing The Art of the Brick to Johannesburg,” he said.

Marketing manager of TheZone@Rosebank, Wesley Scott said, “We are excited to host this internationally acclaimed exhibition at TheZone@Rosebank and look forward to welcoming visitors from all over Gauteng and further to come and enjoy The Art of the Brick.”

The exhibition will run until the end of June.
