Volunteers from Rosebank Union Church revamp Alex Clinic

ROSEBANK - A group of women of the Rosebank Union Church were inspired by the book Nehemiah by Kelly Minter.

The book centres around a biblical figure who left the comfort of Persia to help those in need.

Their inspiration led them to volunteer their time and effort towards revamping the Medico-Legal Clinic in Alexandra township.

The group in partnership with charity Rays of Hope, made great strides in giving the clinic a new look. The clinic is used for counselling women and children who have suffered physical and sexual abuse.

The counselling room, children’s examination room and hallway received a fresh layer of paint, and murals were painted in the examination room, creating an environment in which spiritual and emotional healing can take place.

Rays of Hope would like to thank all volunteers who constantly give so selflessly of their time and efforts to make the broader community a better place, and to assist those less fortunate.

The organisation is open to welcoming new volunteers interested in assisting with outreach work.
