UPDATE: Woman attacked by armed robbers in Killarney complex (VIDEO)

KILLARNEY - Speculation is rife that the second vehicle shown in the violent video footage of a young woman being attacked by armed men, may have been involved in the crime.

UPDATE: 4:30pm – The viral video of the woman being brutally attacked in a Killarney complex has created a social media frenzy, so why is there no police report?

Police Officer Mduduzi Zondo said, “At this stage we have no information on the story.” He explained that although there is so much attention on the story, no one has reported the incident to the police. Not only do the police have no report of the incident, they have no exact time frame during which it took place and the CCTV camera from which the footage is recorded can’t be located.

Initial report: A CCTV video showing a young woman being brutally attacked by armed robbers is going viral on social media.

The video shows the dark-haired woman wearing a white sundress being dragged from the vehicle by two unknown men. (Scroll down to view the video.)

The men then tie a rope around the womans neck before kicking and beating her.

In the video, the two suspects enter the screen from the right and point a firearm at a nearby vehicle, before running deeper into the complex where they found their target. They then chase the vehicle bringing it to a standstill, before dragging the woman from the car.

Founding member of eblockwatch, Andre Snyman was as shocked as many other readers. He commented on the eblockwatch facebook group that the more he watched the footage, the more sure he was that the second vehicle was involved in the crime, rather than merely being an innocent bystander.

The date of the incident is unclear in the footage, although it can be seen that it takes place at 6.12pm sometime this year.

The motive for the attack is unknown and police were unable to confirm the incident.

Angry social media users are calling for the death penalty to be brought back to fight such crime.
