Phalula sisters to share prizes

JOBURG - The 2014 Spar Women's Challenge took place earlier today.

Lebogang Phalula finished first in the last leg of the Spar Women’s Challenge but her sister Diana-Lebo, who came in fifth was the 2014 Grand Prix series winner.

The twins say they will share their prizes. Lebogang walked away with a R10 000 cash prize for her finish and her sister will be the official owner of a car awarded to the Grand Prix winner.

“Her car is my car and my money is hers. I’ll pour petrol and pay for service,” joked Lebogang at the press conference. Diana-Lebo said although her healing ankle sprain, she had a lovely race and thanked Spar for planning such well-organised races.

Apart from the professional runners, there were some other prominent people amongst the crowd during the race. Gauteng Premier David Makhura joined thousands of residents as he also took part in Joburg’s most beautiful race.
