The Citizen and Tuffy Brands clean communities

ROSEBANK – The Citizen and Tuffy Brands have embarked on a six-month campaign to help clean up communities in Joburg.

The campaign started on 10 July and runs until 18 December, coinciding with the 2014 Clean-Up SA and Recycle Week from 15 to 20 September and national Recycling Day on 19 September.

In order to create awareness and entice communities to care for the environment, readers are encouraged to nominate areas in their neighbourhoods that are in need of a clean-up. Every Thursday morning, a cleaning team consisting of six people sets out to clean up a nominated area.

The Citizen is passionate about being involved in activities such as this, and believes that by setting an example and encouraging communities to take ownership of their neighbourhoods, one can make a difference.

This week, the organisations took to the streets of Rosebank to clean.

To nominate an area, SMS the word CLEAN, followed by the area or intersection and suburb to 33521 (cost per SMS is R1.50) or email clean@citizen.co.za
