Today is voting day

Today is voting day in Ward 90.

Local residents are encouraged to participate in today’s by-election.

The vacancy is a result of DA councillor Gordon Mckay being elected to Parliament.

Two parties are contesting the ward with the candidate for the ANC, Joy Coplan going up against Anthony Still, the DA candidate.

The four voting stations in the ward will be open between 7am to 9pm, residents are advised to bring their ID documents.

Outgoing Ward 90 councillor, Gordon Mackay encouraged all registered voters in Ward 90 to go out and vote for their new councillor.

What you need to know:

  •  Times: Polling stations open at 7am and close at 9pm
  •  Only residents living and registered to vote in the ward will be eligible to vote.
  •  Residents can only vote at the voting station where they are registered.
  •  Residents must take their green barcoded ID books along to be able to vote. No passports. No drivers’ licences.

• Craighall – Craighall Primary School

• Craighall Park – Craighall Primary School

• Dunkeld – Rosebank Bowling Club

• Dunkeld – Rosebank Bowling Club

• Glenadrienne – George Lea Park

• Hurlingham – George Lea Park

• Hyde Park – Hyde Park High School

• Illovo (between Rudd and Oxford) – Hyde Park High School

• Melrose (between Corlett and North) – Hyde Park High School

• New Brighton – George Lea Park

• Parkmore – George Lea Park

• Riepen Park – George Lea Park

• Sandhurst – Hyde Park High School
