Women honoured through MTN8 Female Fan of the Match competition

PARKTOWN – The MTN8 Cup kicked off at the start of Women’s Month and MTN is honouring beautiful and colourful fans of the game with a unique competition.

The MTN8 Female Fan of the Match competition is in its third year, with the intention of commemorating women in the month of August. Enthusiastic women fans who show support by dressing in fan regalia are rewarded.

At every MTN8 game in August, a winner will be chosen and awarded with a prize of R16 000 – half of which goes to a charity which caters for women and children, of their choice.

At the semi-final draw in Parktown, Desiree Pooe, MTN´s senior manager of sponsorship and events said, “We are very thrilled with the effort the ladies are making, we saw some interesting outfits. The competition still runs for the rest of the month and we encourage female fans to continue dressing up.”

The competition will continue into the semi-finals of the tournament where Bidvest Wits will take on Orlando Pirates, and Kaizer Chiefs will be up against defending champions, Platinum Stars. The games will be played over two legs, home and away, on the weekends of 16/17 August and 23/24 August.

Times and venues will be announced at a later stage.
