Cellphone conversation cut short

HYDE PARK – Bramley police warn the public to take care when talking on the phone while walking on the road.

This, after a woman was robbed of her iPhone while engaged in a cellphone conversation with her sister in Hyde Park.

Police said the woman was standing next to a traffic light on 6th Street, talking to her sister on her cellpone when an unknown man suddenly grabbed her cellphone and ran away, according to Bramley police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela.

Maphakela said the woman was not able to see suspect’s face, however he was allegedly wearing a blue tracksuit top with long sleeves, white sneakers, and he is short in height.

The iPhone was black in colour with an estimated value of R8000.
