Santana to perform in South Africa

JOBURG - South Africans are in for the treat of a lifetime as legendary musician Santana is set to perform in Johannesburg.

The multi-award winning guitarist and his band will be performing live for the first time in the country.

His concert will start at 7pm on 1 March and will be at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

Santana, who became well known with his band in the 1960s, is widely regarded as pioneering a fusion of rock and Latin American music. He has also sold over 100 million records and won 10 Grammy Awards for hits such as Maria Maria and Smooth.

The musician has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and is listed in the top 20 greatest guitarists of all time by Rolling Stone Magazine. He has also received recognition for his work including the Billboard Latin Music Awards Lifetime achievement honour, a Billboard Century award and the 2013 Kennedy Center Honors award.
