HILLBROW - The life of a Hillbrow resident, Lawrence Mmei has hit a turning point after he was named the final winner in Winhoek’s The Right Stuff Challenge, walking away with a cool R500 000.

Hillbrow resident Lawrence Mmei has won half a million rand.

Mmei’s life has hit a turning point after he was named the winner in beer brand Windhoek’s The Right Stuff Challenge.

Mmei who is a police officer at Hillbrow police station said the prize would help him realise his lifelong dreams.

“It sure feels good, I was planning on building myself a home and due to financial constraints I faced challenges. That has obviously changed now,” he said.

The 38-year-old said he entered the competition never thinking he could be a winner.

“At the time, I was honestly just taking a chance. I had always heard about people winning [competitions] but I never thought it could be me,” he said.

Mmei added that he had aspirations of owning a business, a dream which was in full reach now.

As part of the prize he will be given access to a mentor of his choice to assist him in reaching his goals.
